VeloList Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

VeloList ("the app") is a resale listing assistant. This page explains what information the app accesses, how it's used, and what happens to it. VeloList does not run its own servers and does not sell or share your data with advertisers.

Camera & Photos

When you scan an item, VeloList uses your device's camera (or a photo you choose from your library) to capture an image. That photo is sent directly to Google's Gemini API to generate a title, description, price estimate, category, and shipping recommendation for the item. VeloList does not store your photos on any server it controls; the image is processed by Google to return the analysis and is not retained by VeloList afterward beyond your device's local storage of the item you're currently editing.

Microphone & Speech Recognition

The "Speak to Fill In" feature uses your device's microphone to let you dictate an item description. Audio is processed using Apple's Speech Recognition framework, which performs recognition on-device when supported by your device and language, and otherwise sends audio to Apple's servers for transcription. VeloList itself does not store or transmit your voice recordings anywhere.

Barcode Scanning

Barcodes are detected on-device using Apple's Vision framework. The detected barcode value is used only as additional context sent alongside your photo to Gemini, to help identify the product more accurately.

eBay Account Connection

If you choose to connect an eBay account from Settings, VeloList uses eBay's own sign-in flow (OAuth) to authenticate you directly with eBay — VeloList never sees or stores your eBay password. The resulting access token is stored securely on your device and used to communicate with eBay's API on your behalf. This app currently connects to eBay's Sandbox (test) environment.

Facebook Marketplace

Facebook Marketplace does not offer a public listing API for individual sellers. VeloList's Facebook Marketplace toggle is a local preference only — no account connection or data is sent to Facebook/Meta.

App Diagnostics (Firebase)

VeloList uses Google's Firebase SDK solely to support its AI features. Firebase may collect basic, non-personal technical diagnostics (such as app version and general device information) as part of standard SDK operation. VeloList does not use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Authentication, or Firebase Crashlytics to track you across other apps or websites.

Data Stored on Your Device

Your listings, drafts, listing history, and app settings are stored locally on your device. This information is not uploaded to or stored on any server operated by VeloList.

Data We Do Not Collect

Children's Privacy

VeloList is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
